Canine Cancer Tops the List of Funded Research

Zoey Says Stick It To Canine CancerI’ve got some very exciting news to share and it pertains to grants that have been awarded by the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation.

The mission of the American Kennel Club Canine Health Foundation, is to advance the health of all dogs and their owners by funding sound scientific research and supporting the dissemination of health information to prevent, treat, and cure canine disease.

Here’s the exciting news. Recently the AKC’s Canine Health Foundation Oak Grant program awarded 17 research grants totaling $1.7 million to various institutions and universities for research into canine health concerns. A whopping 6 of the 17 grants are for projects involving canine cancer, which is about 41 percent of the funding!! They are as follows:

A Novel Virus-Based Anti-Tumor Treatment for Canine Osteosarcoma $118,900
