A Birthday and Beyond!

Zoey, Stick it to Canine CancerJumping up and down, and zooming all around, because today is my mom’s birthday! Along with some of her friends, I’ve been bugging her to have a party, and she has continually shrugged her shoulders and said, “Zo, I really don’t want to have a party.” I think she’s crazy, because everybody likes to have a party, right?! Well anyways, I want to do something special to celebrate, and I came up with this awesome idea that’s going to last well beyond today! She’s been talking for a long time about doing a fundraiser on Facebook that involves all of my dog friends. It started out as an idea to host a virtual fashion show, but it’s evolved into a virtual dog show called “Canines for a Cure”, and I would like to see my dog friends, and everyone who shares their life with a canine friend join in the cause.

So here’s all I’m asking you to do. You can pick one, or you can pick all four…and I really hope that you’ll choose the latter!

Post a photo of your dog on my Facebook page beginning 9/18/12 at Zoey Says Stick It To Canine Cancer. Dressed up or not!

Write a short caption, and tell the world how you’re going to stick it to canine cancer.

Visit Wishcuit, click the drop down menu and select CANINES FOR A CURE, purchase a Love Adds Up sticker or magnet, and help me raise funds to help find a cure for canine cancer.*
CANINES FOR A CURE + LOVE ADDS UP FOR A CURE = STICK IT TO CANINE CANCER!!!

SHARE THIS POST WITH ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS! I WANT TO SEE MY PAGE FILLED WITH DOGS!!!
(Everybody knows how much we dogs love treats, so I’m also letting you know that everyone who buys a sticker or magnet gets their name included in our fabulous random drawings each week, and all photos submitted will be included in a special project down the road!)

There are approximately 70 million dogs in this country, and of those dogs roughly 6 million are diagnosed with cancer each year. Somewhere along the way, someone did the math, and depending on which websites you read, that’s one in four, or one in three! Really doesn’t matter to me though, because I still think that those numbers are way too high! Cancer accounts for nearly 50% of all disease related pet deaths each year, but continued research and treatment gets us closer to finding cures for some types of cancers, and also prolongs the lives of our canine friends which makes them SURVIVORS! So what do you say? Want to take a gigantic bite out of cancer with me! We can kick it to the curb, and work together to scratch it out of our lives.

That’s how easy it is to make a difference, and I’m done talking for now…with one exception…HaPpY BiRthDaY mOm! xoxo ~Zo❤

*There are many wonderful non profits and organizations that are working hard to help find a cure for cancer, or who help by providing funding for families who require financial assistance. I like to help many of them, and one of my absolute favorites is The Riedel & Cody Fund, so I’m designating the proceeds from this fundraiser through October 18, 2012 to the Riedel & Cody Fund.
