May is Pet Cancer Awareness Month

When Wishcuit and I began our mission, we had two very important goals; to raise awareness of the early warning signs of cancer in pet animals, and to raise funds for a cure.

Raising Awareness
Cancer that is diagnosed early, is more likely to be treated successfully! By raising awareness of the early warnings signs of cancer in pet animals, our focus encourages pet parents to be vigilant and proactive in their pet’s health. Being aware of the signs and performing regular body checks, along with daily exercise, proper nutrition, reducing exposure to toxins, and regulary veterinary wellness exams, are key to your pet’s overall health.

Finding a Cure
An estimated 6 million dogs and nearly 6 million cats will be diagnosed with cancer this year and we want to change this statistic. Wishcuit supports the field of comparative oncology and raises funds for veterinary clinical trial programs that treat naturally occurring cancer in pet animals. These studies improve our understanding of the biology of cancer and lead to improved cancer treatment options for both dogs and humans.

May is Pet Cancer Awareness month. My goal during this month, is just as it it every other day of the year…to provide pet parents with information and to raise funds for a cure. I’m kicking off this first day of May by sharing the Top 10 Warning Signs of Cancer in Pet Animals and also want to share an important reminder to give your pets an all over body massage today to check for lumps and bumps.

As always, if you would like to support our mission, please join our ongoing Love Adds Up campaign, and stay tuned for our upcoming online store! ~Zo
