“Anyone who has accustomed himself to regard the life of any living creature as worthless is in danger of arriving also at the idea of worthless human lives.” – Albert Schweitzer
This week’s video shares some of the dogs in urgent need of adoption at the Animal Care & Control shelters in Manhattan and Brooklyn. As always, the dogs featured have become a part of me in the time that I spent putting the video together. I can tell you the names of each dog, what they look like, and how they got to the shelter, but what I can’t tell you is if they’ll be adopted in time.
Each dog was found on the Facebook page, Urgent Part 2 which lists the dogs available for adoption at all of the Animal Care & Control shelters.

Brooklyn Shelter 1-718-272-7201 (BRUNO ONLY)
The entry for each dog begins, My name is…

We are not kids anymore but we have two Rottie rescues and would rescue all of them if we had the means and were much younger. It breaks our hearts that we can’t do more.
We can’t understand how any human being can do what is being done to these wonderful animals. God will punish them I am sure, but in the meantime so many wonderful dogs have to suffer. God Bless You for what you are doing and we ask Him to punish those who do these horrible things.

Thanks for your comments Joanie. So many of us understand, and relate to how you feel. I think it’s great that you rescued your Rotties, and I agree, it is heartbreaking to know that we can’t rescue them all. My hope is that we will continue to build from the energy that has been created, and focus it on laws and enforcement, in cases of cruelty and neglect against animals. There is no excuse, and no animal should ever suffer!
